“
Depart! Depart! Go out from there, touch no unclean thing; go out from the midst of her, be clean, you who bear the vessels of the LORD.” (Isaiah 52:11)
“Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them…… Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies….. Get up, sanctify the people…” (Joshua 7:11-13)
God expects us to be free from every unclean thing. We should examine ourselves and repent of every hidden sin in our life. He is a holy and zealous God. He cannot use unclean instruments.
“….as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conducts” (1 Peter 1:14)
See the vision of the prophet Zechariah : Zech. 3:1-7
Let us read some list of sins given in the Word of God:
Romans 1:29-31
Galatians 5:19-21
Colossians 3:5-9
Shall we ask God to examine the depth of our hearts, as the Psalmist: Psalm 139: 23,24
Let us surrender ourselves totally to God. Then God will take control of our lives and ministries. Then Holy Spirit will lead us and control us. Then we will be led by the Holy Spirit. Holy Sprit will produce spiritual fruits in our lives.
Holy Sprit will empower us to serve God effectively!
Read Romans 8:1-17; Galatians 5:16-25
If we are powerless Christians, if we are not able to serve God effectively, Remember, this is the solution:
·
Examine yourselves before the light of the Word of God and repent of every sin·
Surrender yourselves totally to God

Jesus calls every human being of every kindred and tongue…
To be His disciple !
To be a disciple of Jesus….?
Yes. To be a disciple of Jesus. Nothing less. Nothing else!
Jesus called Peter and Andrew saying, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men”
Later Jesus called James and John also. All these men were fishermen. All of them responded to Jesus’ call and followed Him at once.
They left their nets and followed Jesus.
Again we see Jesus calling Mathew the tax collector saying, “follow Me”.
Matthew was in his tax office. But he arose and followed Jesus.
Jesus called many others too. But, not all did follow Him!
Many were reluctant. Some wanted more time to ‘think’!
But some were ready to follow Him gladly, without a second thought. They followed Him with a definite commitment. And they were known as His disciples.
Who is a disciple? One who follows and learns from His Master.
Those who followed Jesus acknowledged Him as their Lord and Teacher.
And they NEVER regretted !
Later, after His death and resurrection, before His ascension, He commissioned His disciples…..
“Go… make disciples of all the nations..” (Read Matthew 28:19,20 Also Mark 16:15,16)
How to make disciples?
• Go into all the world
• Preach the gospel
• Baptize those who believe the gospel
• Teach them to observe ALL things Jesus has commanded
Did His disciples act according to this Great Commission?
Certainly!
In Acts chapter 2 we read of that for the first time.
Place: Jerusalem
Day : The Day of Pentecost
Peter preached the gospel very simply but profoundly (Acts 2:14-40)
Many of those who listened were convicted of their sins (Acts 2:37)
Peter exhorted them to “repent” and to be “baptized” (Acts 2:38)
Those who believed were baptized (Acts 2:41)
They continued steadfastly in …..
• apostles’ doctrine (studying ALL what Jesus taught(Acts 2:42)
• fellowship
• breaking of bread
• prayer
And the Lord added to the church daily those are being saved (Acts2:47)
They were called the Church at Jerusalem (Acts 8:1)
Did they stop with Jerusalem?
No. Later they went to many other places and preached the gospel as Jesus
Had commissioned them.
So we see the church at Antioch, the church at Corinth, the church at Ephesus,
the church at Philippi, the church at Thessalonica etc…
And the disciples were later known as Christians (Acts 11:26)
Yes, only a disciple of Jesus should be called as a Christian !

“…but people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits”
(Daniel 11:32)
Knowing God was the greatest desire and passion of every man and woman of God lived in the past. They had a hungry and thirsty heart for the Living God. They continuously sought His face. They used every opportunity to know Him better. With all humility they tried to comprehend His glory, majesty and power. They were amazed by His greatness. They were immensely attracted by His loveliness. They received a deep conviction about His holiness. And they humbly offered themselves at His feet, for serving Him forever….!
Read Psalm 63
Psalm 65
Psalm 84
Psalm 92
Psalm 96
Psalm 97
Psalm 99
Philippians 3:7-11
Hebrew 11
They were ready to forsake everything in seeking God. They counted all their gains and treasures worthless!
Now, what was their reward in seeking God?
God Himself ! (Genesis 15:1; Philippians 3:9,10)
Now what do you seek in your life and ministry?
“What do you seek?” Jesus asked to those who followed Him(read John 1:38)
They sought His address! But Jesus invited them saying, “Come and see”
They went with Him, stayed with Him, and knew Him!
“They exclaimed: “We have found the Messiah” (John 1:41)
Now What do you seek…?
Hosea proclaims: “Come, let us return to to the Lord….. Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.” (Hosea 6:1, 3)

How many Christians were brutally killed within these last few months itself? How many Christian houses were burnt? How many church buildings were demolished? How many Christian families were chased from their own villages? How many Christian children lost their schooling? Actually, only a fraction of what is happening is reported in the Media.
Even after I started typing this page, I got a phone call from Uttarakhand, informing that, yesterday, a church meeting was disrupted by Hindu fundamentalists and the evangelist and the believers were beaten severely. All these things are happening in a democratic, secular country like India! The cruelty that is shown to poor Christians is really heart breaking.
The contributions of Christians for the development of the country are really great. During the past, thousands of Christian missionaries laid down their very lives for the progress of the people of India. In the field of education and medical facility, India, to a great extent, is indebted to the Christian missionaries. And the good news of the Bible transformed the lives of so many people; and as a result they became better citizens of their country. Also, as a light in the darkness, the Christian activities helped to abolish many of the wicked customs and social evils from the society. Precisely speaking, the presence and the activities of Christians in India, though a meager minority, have helped tremendously for the over-all development of the nation.
Now, what is the justification for the on-going Christian persecution in India? Why should Christians face all these hostilities? Why they are repaid with evil? Why the authorities are slow to act when Christians are attacked?
In Orissa, the victims of the recent Christian persecution are still suffering in the relief camps, without proper living conditions. Even after two and a half month, government did not rehabilitate them. They lost their houses, belongings and even the very lives of their dear ones…. Many days are over, many weeks are over, but the uncertainty about their future is still continuing. Not only that government failed to do justice to them, police has even arrested many persons who tried to do the relief work to those suffering Christians!!
What is written in Romans 8:36 is very true about the Christians in India now. “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yes, India is advancing in many areas…. But when thousands of innocents are brutally persecuted, certainly it is a matter of great shame on our motherland…!

“For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” (Rom.8:36)
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
You might be hearing, for the last one month, a lot from the media about the Persecutions of Christians in Orissa. We wish to add a few words to it, as we could visit some of those places just two days back.
Orissa, one of the backward States in India , has become the arena for the severest persecution of Christians in the recent decades. Persecutions of Christians in Orissa has a long history. It has happened many times in the past, in different measures. But, since 2008 August 23 night, the Christians in Orissa are suffering all sort of atrocities. The blame for the murder of one of the Hindu extremist leaders was laid upon Christians and a fierce persecution started. (In fact, he was killed by the Mavoists on August 23 night). Remember what Roman Emperor Nero did. He burned Rome and Christians became the scapegoats…!
When the angry mob, instigated and lead by the Hindu extremist groups, attacked Christian houses and villages, State government was very slow to act. They burned houses, looted things, demolished church buildings, demanded all Christians to leave the land, chased people from their houses, molested women, and many people were cruelly killed. Nobody came forward to restrain them from those heinous acts….!
Thousands of Christians fled to the forests, leaving everything behind, with women and little children, to save their lives. In spite of the heavy rain and the dangers in the forests they stayed there, mostly eating leaves or whatever available in the forests.
“….they were stoned…. were slain with the sword….. they wandered… being destitute, afflicted, tormented… they wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.” (Heb. 11:37,38)
Later, many of them managed to escape to the cities and even to the neighbouring States like Andhra Pradesh. Almost 50000 Christians are affected by the present violence. Now most of them are living in the relief camps of the government, without proper living conditions.
We could spend two days in Orissa (September22,23), and these are some of the observations:
Pray for the peace of Orissa. God will surely see the tears and groaning of His children. And He will not forget His own….!
God bless you.

Please do not forget the persecuted saints in Orissa. Still they are nowhere! They are not yet rehabilitated. Still they are not safe. Please continue to pray for them and get involved.

Christian Persecution in Orissa has long a history. During the past years, Christians were attacked so many times by the Hindu fanatics. Even in 2007, December, during Christmas, Christians in Orissa faced a severe persecution. So many villages and Prayer Halls were destroyed, many were killed and thousands of Christians became homeless…!
See a few scenes.

Once Again in Orissa…
God enabled us to visit Orissa, once again, to see His persecuted saints. Last few days we were with some of them, to comfort them in their sorrows. Even after two months, the condition of suffering Christians in Orissa is very pathetic.
We could visit again, a Relief Camp which we had visited last time. They have become more tired, both physically and mentally. Two months are already over. Government officials are trying to disperse them. Their houses were destroyed. Their belongings were looted. Now, where will they go? The Government compensation remains as a promise. And their lives are still under threatening from Hindu Fundamentalists.
We could see their desperate expressions… They have no more tears to weep. We heard the sighs of nursing mothers, and the sobbing of the aged. Few tried to smile, hiding their pain. The small help we could give them was nothing compared to their actual need; but they were very thankful. When we prayed they cried. We entrusted them in the goodness of the God of Heaven.
Also we could visit a Christian village on the way. It was a beautiful village having 130 families. Hindu fundamentalists had attacked them too. Attackers made severe damage to their Church Hall and looted all their belongings. Even the nearby shops of Christians were looted. People managed to escape to the surrounding forests. But when they came back later, their houses were totally empty…!
We could also talk with many pastors and evangelists. They narrated the various hostilities they face every day. They needed to pay a heavy price to preach the gospel. As Apostle Paul says, they are suffering like evildoers. But thank God, the Word of God is not chained!
What can be the outcome of the Christian persecution in Orissa? It can be a rubbing, to bring out shine. It can be a fire-test to reveal the genuineness of their faith. It can be the preparation for a mighty spiritual revival in Orissa and throughout India.
Now, what is the responsibility of the people of God around the world?
1. PRAY
2. CARE
“…I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me…. Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these brethren, you did it to Me.”
(Matthew 25:34-40)
